Girl-boss feminism

Girl-boss feminism has a varied history. It was originally coined by businesswoman Sophia Amoruso, and was intended to empower women in the workplace. However, it has since become a bit of a meme, poking fun at women who endorse this idea of success and feminism. This is because girl-boss feminism has been critiqued as essentially neoliberal, as excluding the vast majority of women, and of treating feminism as an individual, rather than collective, effort.
