In Topic 2, we’re focusing on nature, and in particular, this thing called ecofeminism. Ecofeminism is more than just environmentalists who are feminists, it’s a world-view of its own. However, even within ecofeminism you’ll find lots of different folk meaning slightly different things. In this month’s article, we look at some ‘old school’ ecofeminism from Maria Mies and Vandana Shiva. These guys are some of the first and most well-known activists to call themselves ecofeminists. We then speak to Andrea Sempértegui about newer forms of ecofeminism in Latin America. Definitions and reading lists, as per usual!
